Philippe Clement was born in March 1974 in Antwerp, Belgium.
He began his professional football career with Belgian teams Beerschot and Genk, where he lifted the Belgian Cup. He made a brief move to Coventry City before returning to Belgian football.
He played the majority of his career at Club Brugge, winning two Belgian First Division titles, three Belgian Cups, and four Belgian Super Cups.

Managerial career and statistics
Club Brugge
Philippe Clement's first-ever job in football management was the role of U21 coach at Club Brugge. He was later promoted to be an assistant of the first team and manager thereafter.
Club Brugge return
He returned to Club Brugge and was handed a three-year contract. He won the league title twice. During his stay at the club, they won the Belgian Pro League twice and one Belgian Super Cup.

S.K. Beveren
Following his departure from Club Brugge, he joined S.K. Beveren (formerly Waasland-Beveren) briefly.
Genk
That year, he switched from Beveren to Genk, leading the club to the 2018 Belgian Cup final.

Philippe Clement's next job after leaving Belgian football was the top job at French club AS Monaco.
He joined the club in 2022 following the departure of Niko Kovac and recorded a good start in his season, which includes ensuring UCL qualification.
