Minnesota United Academy is the youth development wing of MLS based side Minnesota United, saddled with the responsibility of developing young players for the first team.


The Academy started on a bright and have continued to press forward towards achieving greater things in the future with much focus on moral, technical, physical aspect of Soccer development.


Minnesota United has an active Soccer Academy that was launched on February 4, 2017, prior the to team’s participation in Major League Soccer.

How to join Minnesota United Academy Youth – tryouts 2025

Players interested in being part of the Minnesota United Academy should contact the club’s Academy representatives about tryouts and other information about the team.


Players interested should visit the Academy overview page of the MNUFC Youth Development Program, and fill out the form. Players interested that have submitted will be guided, or receive feedback from the team.


Players selected are expected to receive invitation for a chance to participate in tryouts.

U17 Pro – MLS Pro Development League

U15 Pro – MLS Pro Development League

U14 & Below – Working in Clubs in Minnesota


Players in the MNUFC Youth Development Program will compete in the MLS Development League at the U15, U17 and U19 levels.


These teams participate in a Compa edition environment which strengthens the overall confidence level of the players.

Minnesota United (MNUFC) Summer Camp


Minnesota United organizes youth activities throughout the year, such as Community Camps. Players in participating in youth activities could be handed an opportunity or trial within the Youth Development Program.

About Minnesota (MNUFC) Youth United Academy

The Minnesota United Academy or MNUFC Youth Development Program (YDP) was established to create a pathway for talented and committed players to raise their game and possibly draft into the first team.


Players are given an opportunity to shine by allowing them to express themselves through a competitive soccer Competition for Minnesota United through the MLS NEXT.


The aim of the creation of a Pro Player pathway, is to raise the level of soccer in the Minnesota region.


The team was built with a core focus on developing young players from amateurs to professional-level soccer players who can play for Minnesota United first team.


In a bid to make it even more accessible, the program collaborates with local youth clubs in the Minnesota region.
