David Peter Gray was born in May 1988 in Edinburgh, Scotland.
David Gray was a former professional footballer who moved from the Manchester United youth system to professional status at Preston North End following loan stints at Royal Antwerp, Crewe Alexandra, and Plymouth Argyle.
He also played for Stevenage and Burton Albion and ended up in Hibs before heading for football management.
He won the Scottish Cup in 2015–16 and the Scottish Championship with Hibs in 2016–17.
