Manchester United could be one of the biggest names in world football with a good record, but the club has some of the biggest losses.


The club, since its inception in 1920, has been competing in several domestic and international competitions, including the Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup, and the Champions League.


A couple of worst defeats recorded lately might worry, which includes the 7-0 loss to Liverpool in 2023, but it might also interest you to know some of the club’s biggest losses in history.


8. Ipswich Town 6-0 Manchester United (Mar 1, 1980)

United lost to Ipswich Town FC by conceding six goals.

United lost to Leicester City in the English First Division on the road.


6. Man United 1-6 Tottenham Hotspur (2020, Premier League)

Many Tottenham Hotspur and Man United fans may not easily forget the outcome of the Premier League round six clashes at Old Trafford. This was the sixth game following the pandemic, and fans were not at the stadium to watch the game.


United conceded four goals in the first half despite scoring first from the resulting spot kick by Bruno Fernandes approximately two minutes after kickoff. The visitors added two more goals in the second half to finish the game strongly.


José Mourinho was in charge when the team suffered the shock loss to Lilly whites at Old Trafford. Marcus Rashford, Paul Pogba, and David De Gea had a bad day.
