Why was Lewandowski banned for three games?
When players return to Barcelona after the World Cup, one will sit on the bench for consecutive games, and it is Robert Lewandowski. The Spanish league governing body issued a ban on the polish forward, who will miss the first three games at the end of the tournament in Qatar.
According to the Daily Post, Lewandowski has been banned for three La Liga games and will not be in action for the Blaugrana due to the red cards he received during the club’s 2-1 victory over CA Osasuna.
The Pole was shown two yellow cards during the game. He will miss the game against RCD Espanyol, Atletico Madrid, and Getafe. The 34-year-old leads the league’s top scorer chart with thirteen goals from fourteen games.
Robert Lewandowski is currently at the World Cup in Qatar with the Polish Men’s National team.
