Why Chelsea rejected Bayern loan/70m offer for Callum Hudson-Odoi

Chelsea rejected Bayern Munich initial loan bid which included a mandatory option to make it permanent with £70 million pounds.

The blues are not particularly interested in selling their former Academy prospect. But the 19-year winger only appears to be interested in a move away from the club as a result of lack of quality game time under Frank Lampard.

But recently, Chelsea manager Frank Lampard who is also a club legend had resulted in starting the winger ahead of Christian Pulisic, who used to be his favourite talisman.

According to the Guardian, Chelsea rejected Bayern Munich lucrative offer for the 19-year old, but the English club could still consider selling Odoi if the German Bundesliga record champions table another offer with a different approach.

But what approach do they want from the German Bundesliga side?

The blues want an improved bid for the young English sensation.

Allowing the youngster to leave on a temporal basis is not an option for the Stamford Bridge club. Rather they would like to sell the 19-year old interesting winger permanently without an initial loan.

So from the camp of Chelsea, Bayern should either make an outright payment without a loan or forget anything about signing the player for now.

Also, Lampard is now considering to give more opportunity for Odoi to shine in the first team. After the game against Crystal Palace, the manager spoke about his desire for Callum to remain with them.

“It has to be right for everybody. At the minute I want Callum as part of my squad, especially with what he offered up today and the second half against West Brom. That is where I am at.” said Lampard after the game against Crystal Palace last Saturday.
