Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti opened the door for youngster Alvaro Rodriguez who did not fail to shine for the Los Blancos in his debut game. The 18-year old was introduced into the game in the 87th minute for Rodrygo Goes.
His first pass which resulted in Real Madrid’s second goal by Vinicius Junior was cancelled by the referee due to an offside call. However, the Uruguayan youth player continued to press forward and was finally rewarded.
He provided the assist for Marco Asensio’s goal which increased the lead to two.
The history books
Alvaro Rodriguez got into the history books as he became the second youngest Real Madrid player with an assist. And according to AS, Real Madrid is considering pushing for his place in the first team in the 2023/24 season.
“The boy has to progress playing, but he is a player that we are also going to use. We have to talk about Álvaro’s future than Raúl.” says Real Madrid Castilla head coach Raul Gonzalez.
