Royale Union SG would begin their quest for European football this season in the Europa League playoffs against Swiss club Lugano. The Belgian side will host the first-leg clash at Lotto Park. Royale finished third in the Championship playoffs last season.

FC Lugano, on the other hand, finished third in the Swiss Super League last season and qualified for the UEL playoffs.

Lugano are having a great start to the season, winning three of their previous four games. And in the Swiss Cup last weekend, it was a goal fest as they thrashed Gunzwil 7-0.
