Brazilian giants Corinthians welcome Estudiantes to the Neo Quimica Arena in the Copa Sudamericana quarter-finals first leg. It was a hard-fought win for the Brazilians as they held on to see off Newell’s Old Boys in the round of 16.

It was a scare for Corinthians supporters in the first leg in Brazil after Newells Old Boys opened scoring before the end of the first time.

However, Yuri Alberto’s spot kick and Wesley’s flick from Angel Romero were enough to secure the comeback win.

Estudiantes completed the double over Goais to advance to the quarter-finals. The Los Pincharratas secured a (5-0) aggregate win over the Brazilians.
