Club Almagro will square up against Boca Juniors in the quarter-finals of the 2023 Argentine Cup at the Estadio Carlos Augusto Mercado Luna in La Roja.

Almagro plays in the Primera Nacional, the second-tier football competition in the country.

Almagro completed a 4-1 rout over fourth-tier Club Atlético Excursionistas in the round of 16 inspired by 31-year Enzo Fernandez’s hat trick.

Boca Juniors, on the other hand, struggled to see off Barracas Central in the round of 16. Ahead of the game, Boca suffered a shock defeat at home against Tigre through a resulting corner headed into the back of the net by Brian Luciatti.

Boca Juniors have won the Argentine Cup four times, with their recent success in the 2019-20 season.
