With two consecutive draws, Mazatlan FC are searching for their first win of the new season but would face a tough test coming up against Monterrey at Estadio de Mazatlán.

Despite ending the game with a man disadvantage, Mazatlan managed to earn a draw at Pumas UNAM last weekend.

CF Monterrey secured a narrow victory over Atlas after Stefan Medina headed the ball into the back of the net twelve minutes into the first half from a resulting free kick to maintain their impressive start.

Nestor Vidrio was in good form for Mazatlan as they managed to hold Pumas UNAM to a scoreless draw on the road. 

Stefan Medina (Monterrey)

The smashing header by Stefan Medina from the resulting free kick was enough to give Monterrey the maximum points on the road against visiting Atlas.

The Colombian defender was also outstanding in defense throughout the game.
