After defeating Blackburn Rovers 4-1 in the EFL Cup fourth round six days prior, Nottingham Forest’s four-game winning streak in all competitions ended on Tuesday night as they were defeated 3-0 away to Man United. The result leaves them 19th on the table.

Chelsea, meanwhile, snapped a four-game losing streak on Tuesday at Stamford Bridge when they easily defeated Bournemouth 2-0. Graham Potter’s team is still in eighth place in the league, but thanks to Tottenham Hotspur’s Boxing Day draw with Brentford, the Blues have closed the gap on their London rivals in fourth place to six points with a game remaining.

Nottingham Forest will be free to reintroduce Manchester United loanee Dean Henderson to the starting lineup after the goalkeeper was ruled ineligible to face his parent club the last time they met. Wayne Hennessey will subsequently move to the bench.

Omar Richards and Giulian Biancone, who are each still recovering from ACL and leg injuries, and Chiekhou Kouyate and Moussa Niakhate, who both have hamstring issues, are all still out for an extended time.

Armando Broja (ACL), N’Golo Kante, Ben Chilwell (both hamstring), Wesley Fofana (knee), and Ruben Loftus-Cheek (calf) will all be out for Chelsea due to injury.

Kepa Arrizabalaga, the team’s goalkeeper, overcame a foot issue in time to start against the Cherries, and the Spaniard is expected to hold the starting spot ahead of Edouard Mendy.
