What is Philippe Coutinho market value? Where will he go next amid Aston Villa transfer decision
Philippe Coutinho only switched sides permanently following the agreement between Barcelona and Aston Villa. However, the recent appointment of Unai Emery as head coach of the Villans has changed the dynamics.
What is Philippe Coutinho’s market value?
According to figures from Transfermarkt, Coutinho is worth €18.00m. The Brazilian forward’s value has continued to plummet.
The Brazilian did show some flashes of brilliance at some point last season and was tipped to be back on his feet once again. But the Brazilian had failed to return to his previous form, which led to Barcelona paying a record transfer fee of over 100 million euros.
According to Birmingham Mail, Unai Emery is open to working with Philippe Coutinho at Aston Villa. The only reason the Brazilian is not available for selection is due to his level of fitness.
But Emery is optimistic about the return of Coutinho to the first team.
Emery is not interested in working with Philippe Coutinho
According to Mundo Deportivo (h/t Fichajes), Emery is not counting on the Brazilian. This decision could force the club to sell in January or the following transfer windows. Currently, Coutinho earns £125,000 per week, which is massive for a player that contributes less to the team.
