The Premier League is back in action this week, beginning on Tuesday at the Falmer Stadium when Brighton & Hove Albion take on Nottingham Forest in a crucial contest.

Nottingham Forest has struggled to make an impact in the Premier League and is currently anchored at the bottom of the standings. The away team will need to win this game after losing to Wolverhampton Wanderers by a 1-0 last week.

On the other side, Brighton & Hove Albion, now in seventh place in the league table, has performed better than expected thus far this year. The Seagulls had a point to prove after suffering a 2-0 loss to Brentford in their previous match.

Team News

Before the loss to Brentford, Brighton was devastated to learn that Enock Mwepu would retire at just 24 due to a hereditary heart ailment. Now, De Zerbi is faced with a new injury issue in Kaoru Mitoma.

The Japanese winger, who replaced Pervis Estupinan at halftime, suffered an ankle injury and will not travel with Levi Colwill and Jan Paul van Hecke to face Forest. Meanwhile, Jakub Moder has been missing for quite some time.

Lewis O’Brien is trying to be able to play on Tuesday, while Renan Lodi is dealing with an ankle problem. Serge Aurier is doubtful with a muscular injury.

Johnson’s missed penalty finished off a lacklustre performance from the Wales international, who may now have to make way for Jesse Lingard or Taiwo Awoniyi in the centre while Orel Mangala is vying to replace Cheikhou Kouyate.

Brighton & Hove Albion Premier League form:

L, W, D, L, L

Nottingham Forest Premier League form:

L, L, L, D, L

Brighton & Hove Albion predicted lineup:

Sanchez; Lamptey, Dunk, Webster, Estupinan; March, Caicedo, Mac Allister, Lallana, Trossard; Welbeck

Nottingham Forest predicted lineup:

Henderson; Williams, Cook, McKenna, Toffolo; Mangala, Yates, Freuler; Lingard; Awoniyi, Dennis

Prediction

Brighton & Hove Albion 2-0 Nottingham Forest

Despite some interim difficulties under Roberto De Zerbi, Brighton & Hove Albion are still on track to finish in the top ten.

To maintain their position in the top level, Nottingham Forest must overcome their inability to adapt to life in the Premier League. Brighton & Hove Albion are currently the better team and should be able to win this game.
