Werder Bremen vs Schalke 04 live stream, TV channel and team news

On Saturday, Werder Bremen will face Schalke at the Weserstadion in the Bundesliga to win consecutive games.

Following back-to-back victories, the River Islanders saw a fall in form, losing their next two games in a row, with a humiliating cup exit sandwiched in between. They were eliminated in the second round by Paderborn of the second tier, who triumphed 5-4 on penalties after the two teams had played to a 2-2 draw.

Ole Werner’s team defeated Hertha Berlin last weekend by 1-0 to get back on the winning track. With 18 points from 12 games, Werder moved to eighth place in the Bundesliga standings.

Schalke, whose 30-year record in the Bundesliga ended last year with relegation, mounted an immediate comeback by winning the 2.Bundesliga. However, the Royal Blues have had a dismal start to life in the top division, winning just one of their first 12 games and losing their past six. The North Rhine-Westphalia team is at the bottom of the standings with just six points and has become an early front-runner for relegation.

Team News

Felix Agu won’t be available for Bremen on Friday due to a knee issue, and Jean Manuel Mbom is still out with an Achilles tendon rupture.

Oliver Burke is expected to be called upon from the bench of substitutes, as Werner is unlikely to make any changes to his starting XI after winning the last match.

Schalke, meanwhile, will be missing Thomas Ouwejan, Dominick Drexler, Jordan Larsson, Leo Greiml, Rodrigo Zalazar, Marcin Kaminski, and Timothee Kolodziejczak.

At left-back, Tobias Mohr will likely take the place of Ouwejan, while Simon Terodde, who was benched against Freiburg the last time out, might start again.
