The Golden Eaglets of Nigeria are in Togo for the 2021 WAFU U17 Tournament for West Africa Zone B which was earlier billed to take place in Niger republic.
The Nigerian U17 setup targets a slot in the African U17 Tournament slated to take place in Morocco, later in the year which could be achieved by getting to the Semi-finals of tournament at least.
The team led by Fatai Amoo touched down in Togo on Sunday with a 25-man list with promises of getting a favourable result that would take them to the continental showpiece in Morocco.

How the Golden Eaglets of Nigeria are preparing for the tournament
As per NFF official website, the team had a training session yesterday ahead of the opening game against Ivory Coast, even as Fatai Amoo promised Nigerians a better result.
“We wanted the players to shake – off the travel stress and get their bodies physically conditioned for the task ahead against Ivory Coast and the focus is to win the game,” said Amoo as per Thenff.com.
The 2021 WAFU U17 Tournament fixtures involving Nigeria
The Golden Eaglets will begin their quest for glory against Ivory Coast on January 6th, before meeting the Black Starlets of Ghana on the 9th.
The game against Ghana appears to be the strongest tie in the group, although the Ivorians are also tricky and could prove to be tough opposition.

As five-time champions of the world, the Golden Eaglets are rated as one of the best in the competition, as such, lots of expectations will be on the shoulders of the young lads.
After a series of friendlies, Fatai Amoo justified his team as competition ready. The manager remains optimistic of a better outing in Togo.
Nigerians are expecting a lot from the Fatai Amoo led team when the tournaments get underway on January 5th.
