Dean Henderson doesn’t want to be number two on the Manchester United bench. As the Manchester Evening News reports, the goalkeeper currently loaned to Sheffield United only wants to sign a new contract with the Red Devils if he becomes regular goalkeeper at Old Trafford next season.
Henderson has built up a lot of self-confidence during his loan, as number one in Sheffield has had a strong season so far and has attracted many interested parties. United has had big earner David de Gea for nine years now and has weak phases in all of his undisputed qualities – as is the case at the moment. The Spaniard’s contract is dated to 2023, that of Henderson to 2022.
