Tottenham could pursue Dusan Vlahovic as a replacement for Harry Kane
Various sources confirm that Tottenham are eyeing Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic as a replacement for Harry Kane.
The departure of Spurs legend Kane leaves a big vacuum in Ange Postecoglou’s team as the new season begins, and it’s a problem that needs to be fixed immediately.
Although Tottenham and Bayern Munich reached an agreement on a price of €100 million (£86 million) plus an additional €20 million (£17.2 million) in potential add-ons, there is a case to be made that the 30-year-old is essentially irreplaceable.
The club had been watching the Serbian striker’s status last month, but they temporarily gave up when it seemed Kane might stay.
Dusan Vlahovic, who Juventus put on the market this summer, has been considered in a prospective swap trade between Chelsea and Juventus.
Romelu Lukaku and Dusan Vlahovic were proposed as a swap by Juventus to Chelsea this summer, but no deal has been reached, and the two teams’ valuations are still far apart.
With 10 goals, Vlahovic was Juventus’ leading scorer for the 2022–2023 Serie A season.
While that may not sound appealing, the striker did score 17 goals in 21 games for Fiorentina in the Italian top flight the year before. However, Spurs may find it challenging to accept Vlahovic’s high asking price of almost £69 million.
Following Kane’s departure, Spurs have been linked with deals for Chelsea forward Romelu Lukaku, Gent’s Gift Orban, and Montpellier forward Elye Wahi.
