Top 9 Arsenal transfer targets in the summer of 2021

Published

on

Arsenal’s bid to return to the summit, the club has identified its top target for the summer transfer window.

The club’s performance lately had indicated the need to make a proper squad overhaul ahead of next season after missing out on the Champions League and the UEFA Europa League.

Meaning, Arsenal’s chances of getting a place in European football for the 2021/2022 football season are not realistic.

However, the club has identified some of the best legs in the transfer market capable of helping them return to contention in the Premier League.

Recall, the London based club made a few signings, brought some new players on loan as well as extending loan stay of already present players.

Although Arsenal still has a long list of young players from it’s Academy that could still fit into the senior team in the next few seasons

Some of the notable names include Martin Ødegaard and Dani Ceballos both from Real Madrid on loan in a bid to further strengthen the team.

This helped the club at some point most especially in the UEFA Europa League campaign where the club got to the Semifinals only to bow out to Spanish La Liga side Villareal.

The club is prioritized the best legs for its squad for the 2022 football season which is a couple of months away.

For the past few years, the club has been working towards making better achievements with the new project currently at the club.

This new project after the exit of Arsène Wenger includes the signing of Unai Emery (past) and currently Mikel Arteta as head coaches of the team working for the new project at the club.

Highlighting Arsenal transfer targets for the summer transfer window in 2021

1. Alassane Plea (Borussia Mönchengladbach)

This is not coming as a surprise but owing to his impressive performance lately with Borussia Mönchengladbach in the Bundesliga.

Plea on his part forms a core part of Mönchengladbach and has consistently turned up on very big occasions.

Plea was the team’s mainstay in the attack most especially the club’s involvements in UEFA Champions League from the group stages.

During the 2019/2020 season, Plea was an inspiration as he led the attack which made huge gains by qualifying for the knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League that year alongside Real Madrid in the same.

He is an ideal striker that would turn out to be the main weapon in the attack for the London based club.

2. Nabil Fekir (Real Betis)

Nabil Fekir is an Attacking Midfielder who plays for Spanish La Liga outfit Real Betis. His move to the club has yielded the best results.

However, he still poses a threat in the middle of the park and Gunners top hierarchy had identified him as a suitable option for the midfield.

3. Yves Bissouma (Brighton)

Bissouma might have struggled with his place at Brighton a few seasons ago, but there’s a lot of improvements lately.

The Malian midfielder is also another option left for the club.

4. Julian Brandt (Borussia Dortmund)

Brandt could be enjoying himself in the German Bundesliga, but there’s still more to play for and Arsenal who has identified him as a top transfer target offers him a new pathway in his career.

For Dortmund in the Bundesliga, there’s been ups and downs in the club’s performance in a League dominated by Bayern Munich who has the best legs in the division to play with.

Brandt is capable of bringing stability to the team if properly handed to his best position.

5. Glen Kamara (Rangers)

Kamara is currently enjoying the best moments of his career with Glasgow Rangers in the Scottish Premiership in the past couple of months.

He was also in the Scottish League winning squad for Rangers who lifted its first Scotland league title since the start of the Premiership Era amid Celtic dominance.

6. Lee Buchanan (Derby County)

Although not much can be said of this player. But he is currently one of the best performers at the EFL Championship club aiming for promotion to the English Premier League after several near misses.

7. Max Aarons (Norwich)

Max Aarons has been subject to transfer speculations in the past couple of months since clubs like Manchester United are looking at the possibilities of adding the player to its squad for the upcoming season according to speculations.

Aarons promises to be good addition but it is still unclear as to whether Norwich City is interested in selling him to any club.

Norwich got back to the Premier League after just one season outside the English top flight.

8. Tariq Lamptey (Brighton)

Tariq Lamptey’s quick rise after moving from Chelsea to Brighton has caused several clubs to look at his way.

Lamptey is also another option for the club.

9. Emerson (Real Betis)

Emerson is the second Real Betis player on the wishlist of Arsenal top transfer target for the summer transfer window.

He has been one of the top outstanding talents at Real Betis.

Conclusion

How Arsenal plans to improve on its first team will define the clubs future in the English Premier League.

In the last few seasons, the club has suffered dwindling form. The constant poor finish at the end of every season in the last four seasons has called for concerns.

However, a proper squad overhaul could be the club’s answer.

The top 9 Arsenal transfer targets for the summer transfer window in 2021 could be the club’s next factor in the 2021/2022 season.
