Perhaps the best generation of goalkeepers in a long time is on the horizon. All under the age of 25, these young men are already used to the strongest competition in both club and international competitions.

It’s nice when, even at the relative beginning of your career, you can choose between clubs like Bayern, Real Madrid or Manchester City. It seems that just such a pleasant choice lies ahead of these young, talented goalkeepers.

This 20-year-old Colombian goalkeeper is probably the most talented young goalkeeper in South America. He plays in the Columbian league for Atletico National and is also a member of the Columbian national U20 team.

Many European teams are following his career, and it’s almost certain that he will transfer to Europe soon.

Mamardashvili is only 22 years old, but he can already be very proud of how far he has come. In 2021, Valencia bought this young goalkeeper from Dinamo Tbilisi and immediately loaned him back to his native country.

However, after his impressive performances, he was brought to Valencia, and now he is the first choice for goalkeeper in this Spanish football giant.

This 19-year-old American goalkeeper will become Chelsea’s first choice in the following years if we can believe Chelsea’s coaches.

He started his career in Chelsea’s academy and then was loaned to USA in Chicago Fire. This season, he will try himself in Europe, in Eupen from Belgium.

7. Stefan Bajic – Valenciennes (Bristol City)

Stefan is only 21 years old, and he already has changed several big European clubs in his career. Currently, he is loaned to Valenciennes from Bristol City.

He started his career in France in Saint Etienne and was part of all categories of France’s national football team.

Diogo Costa is another great talent from Porto’s academy. He is considered to be among the best goalkeepers in Europe right now.

He is 23 years old, and he passed the old young categories of Porto’s academy and Portugal’s national team young categories. He is the first goalkeeper of Porto and is part of the senior national team of Portugal.

5. Konstantinos Tzolakis – Olympiacos

One of the biggest young talents Greece has now is this young goalkeeper. Tzolakis is currently playing for Olympiacos even though he is only 20 years old. He already has three league trophies and one Cup trophy with Olympiacos. He is also part of the senior national team of Greece.

4. Maarten Vandevoordt – Leipzig

Vandevoordt was known to the public since he was 17 years old and appeared in the UEFA Champions League match against Napoli when he was part of Genk.

He holds the record for the youngest goalkeeper in a Champions League match. This season, he is part of Leipzig’s German team, and it’s expected his career will go only in the upper line.

Gavin is considered someone who will become the biggest star of his national team, Ireland. He is one of the most talented goalkeepers in all of England at the moment. He is only 21 and part of Southampton in the English Championship League.

He started his career in Shamrock Rovers, then was part of Manchester City, Rochdale and Portsmouth. Last season, he was part of the Team of the Year in English League One.

2. Kjell Scherpen – Sturm Graz (Brighton and Hove Albion)

Brighton seems to be the best team in Europe right now regarding young talents.

Kjell is part of this Premier League team, but he spent all his time on loans in different teams. He was loaned to Oostende, Vitesse and this season to Sturm Graz. However, his talent is undisputed, and he is part of the Netherlands U21 national team.

Meslier was among the goalkeepers that conceded the most goals last season in the Premier League. However, if we consider the number of shots toward him and the number of saves, we will realise that the team in defense was weak, and the goals are not his fault.

He has a high percentage of saves during all matches in the Premier League and now in the Championship. He has 23 years of experience and is part of the French U21 national team.
