Watford FC midfielder Tom Dele-Bashiru is close to making a return to the first team after a length injury layoff.

The Nigerian international has been inactive for a while, missing some of the club’s most important EFL Championship matches even as Watford continue their chase for a return to the English Premier League after just a season outside the English top flight.

At least for Watford at this point, Dele-Bashiru’s return to the first team would be a blessing that could further boost the club’s chances of inking an automatic ticket to the Premier League next season.

But when exactly would he return to the Championship side after a lengthy injury layoff?

Pending is the word. He could return probably towards the end of April following the footage we saw.

However, the club could continue and probably pick the ticket to the EPL next season without having him back.

Although he is also an important first-team player. The team and the rest of the players are prepared for this moment and the chase continues.

The Hornets are currently second on the EFL Championship league table with 78 points and are six points below league leaders Norwich City with 84 points.

With up to seven games left of the league’s regular-season fixtures, Watford could still grab the second automatic ticket since they have about nine points difference between third-place Brentford.

This is the moment the club needs Tom Dele-Bashiru who is still out injured.

But the footage gives the club and fans high hopes of his quick recovery before the end of April.

There are still over seven games left to play before the season comes to an end.

Tom Dele-Bashiru stats and how the injury has affected him

He is an important player for the club with lots of potentials which he was about showcasing before the unneeded injury.

In the 2020/2021 season, he has made just two appearances with no goal or an assist to his name which was as a result of his injury.

Hopefully, he would return on time to finish the season with the club.
