Timon Janis Wellenreuther has left Dutch Eredivisie side Willem II as the 24-year old goalkeeper announced he will not be renewing his contract with the club.

The goalkeeper confirmed the development on his Instagram account.

Three years ago, he left Schalke 04 to join the Dutch League side but the reunion will come to an end.

The German footballer had 77 appearances for Willem II.

Timon Janis Wellenreuther could be heading to Germany as reports from Fussball Transfers suggest Hertha Berlin is interested in securing his services.

For me, three successful years at Willem II will come to an end in the summer.”

I am particularly proud of moving into the 2019 Cup final and qualifying for the Europa League this season. I have decided that I would now like to take the next cut in my career – I cannot tell you exactly where I am going.”
