Borussia Dortmund has brought the first new entry for the coming season. As BVB reports, Thomas Meunier (28) comes to the Signal Iduna Park. Since the right-back’s contract at Paris St. Germain expired, no transfer fee is due. Meunier signs until 2024.
Meunier is a Belgian international, has played 40 times for the Red Devils and finished third in the 2018 World Cup. In 2016, the 1.90 meter man switched from Bruges to PSG and has since collected numerous national titles. At BVB, Meunier could replace Achraf Hakimi (21), who may be drawn back to Real Madrid. Dortmund still hopes to remain .
“Thomas Meunier is a player who has demonstrated his quality at the highest level in the Champions League and in the national team over a long period of time and will really benefit us with his experience,” said sports director Michael Zorc.
New signing Meunier explains: “Borussia Dortmund plays exactly the football that I want to play: exciting, authentic and natural. BVB is known for their enthusiastic fans and the atmosphere during the game with Paris in Signal Iduna Park honestly influenced my decision. I am ambitious and I would like to win titles with Dortmund as with Bruges and Paris. ”
