The Three signings Bayern Munich wants to make next summer
The top hierarchy at Bayern Munich believes it would be better to add a few new players, especially young talents, to the fold frequently.
This philosophy has led to the signing of some of the world’s best talents. Most notably, in the previous transfer window, Bayern Munich successfully captured the signature of Matthijs de Ligt from Juventus.
The Bavarians also signed another top talent Ryan Gravenberch who had been on the radar of numerous European football clubs, Real Madrid, before the agreement was reached with Ajax.
Why does Bayern Munich want to sign new players next summer? The Bundesliga giants wish to continue dominating the Bundesliga and, most importantly, remain a relevant household name in continental football (the UCL).
Ahead of next summer, the club has clarified what they want to achieve, which is expected to increase the squad depth by adding three players, according to Fichajes.
Konrad Laimer
Laimer is one of the household names at RB Leipzig. The 25-year-old Austrian footballer would see his contract expire in the summer of 2023 with no signs of possible renewal.
As things stand, Laimer could leave RB Leipzig for free next summer to join Bayern Munich for free. His arrival would add more options to the midfield of the Bavarians.
Left-back
Although Alphonso Davies covers this position, it would be better for Bayern to look for a reliable backup eventually. The Canadian remains the only reliable left-back at the club, which raises a big red flag.
Bayern Munich head coach Julian Nagelsmann wants to sign a backup left-back for the club next summer and does not want to rely on the Canadian solely.
Centre forward
The departure of Robert Lewandowski to Barcelona has left a void that the club has not filled. Although Cristiano Ronaldo was rumoured to be on his way to the Allianz Arena as a potential replacement for the Polish forward, the club did not consider the Portuguese star an option.
Currently, Bayern Munich eyes centre forwards like Lautaro Martínez (Inter Milan) and Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur).
