The teams never relegated from Premier League
England, the country known as the cradle of football, has probably the strongest championship in the world. The Premier League is such that during the season, the new champion’s name is in doubt until the very end.
Their “top” starts from the fifth or sixth position, when several teams fight for the place that leads to Europe, and the names are only changed. And that is the greatest charm of this championship.
The Premier League was formed in 1992 when it was “created” by clubs that withdrew from the First Division of the Football League, which was (until then) the highest league in England since 1888.
Since its inception, a total of 46 clubs have competed in it, but only seven have won titles – Manchester United (13), Manchester City (6), Chelsea (5), Arsenal (3), Blackburn Rovers (1), Leicester City (1) and Liverpool (1).
What is perhaps most interesting is that only six clubs have participated in all seasons and have never been relegated to the Championship. Of course, the first thing that comes to mind is the “big four” represented by Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool.
Arsenal
Expected name in this list. Not only have Arsenal not been relegated from the Premier League, they have been a member of the first division for over 100 years! It is a club that has the longest streak of seasons in the first tier of competition in England.
The last time they were relegated was in 1913, and no one has such a streak in the elite. Arsenal’s worst ranking was in 1995 when they finished in 12th place.
In the 2003/04 season, it became the only club to finish the championship without being defeated by any club. So, with 49 consecutive games without defeat, he holds the Premier League record. It was founded in 1886, and in 1893 it became the first club from the south of England to join the English Football League.
Everton
With nine League titles, five FA Cup trophies, nine Charity Shields, and the 1985 Cup Winners’ Cup trophy, Everton is one of the most successful football clubs in England.
He has never won the Premier League but has been an active member for 23 years. The ranking of the well-known ” Caramels” generally varies. If all seasons were considered, between 17th and 4th position, you could always see the name – Everton.
Liverpool
Rich history is what characterizes “Reds.” Liverpool won the English first division, today’s Premier League, 18 times. He won the FA Cup seven times, the League Cup eight times, and the English Super Cup fifteen times. Liverpool won the Champions League five times and the UEFA Cup three times.
However, he won the Premier League only once, even though he has been a part of it since its inception until today. Liverpool’s worst ranking was eighth place.
Manchester United
Manchester United is the most trophy-winning club in England since the Premier League has been played. He won the title of champion of England 20 times, the FA Cup 11 times, the League Cup 4 times, the English Super Cup 20 times, the Champions League three times, and once each the Cup Winners’ Cup, the European Super Cup, the Intercontinental Cup, and the World Club Championship.
The “Red Devils” has recorded the most in the history of the Premier League so far. They have been there since the foundation, and they had the honour of winning the title in the first season of this competition. In total, they have 13 trophies in the Premier League, and until the 2013/14 season, when they finished seventh, they never went below third place.
Chelsea
Chelsea has won the Premier League five times so far and is the third most successful club in the history of the Premier League when it comes to the number of titles.
The greatest success in the club’s history was achieved in 2012 by winning the Champions League after defeating Bayern Munich in the final. In addition to winning titles in the Premier League, he won the FA Cup seven times, the League Cup five times, the English Super Cup four times, the Cup Winners’ Cup twice, and the UEFA Super Cup and the Europa League only once.
As for the Premier League, the “Blues” had their worst season in 1993/94, when they took only 14th place.
Tottenham
And finally, we arrived at “White Hart Lane” – the home of Tottenham. Spurs also spent every season in the Premier League. Their best ranking was the second position, and the worst was the 15th place in the second season since the establishment of this league.
It is also worth mentioning that Tottenham is the first English club to win the double crown (in the same year, the English First League and the FA Cup) in the 1960/61 season. It was also the first club from England to win a European competition, the Cup Winners’ Cup, in 1963.
