Barcelona wants to continue improving its squad, and the winter transfer window opens up more opportunities. The Catalan club was busy in the previous window, bringing some significant re-enforcement.

However, there’s a need to improve on the already existing squad. Leading the LaLiga table at the end of the first part, Barca would have much to do, and if they’re to stand a chance, they must invest in players.

Club president Joan Laporta has been clear about his stance on the team. He wants to strengthen the team for the upcoming challenges and has not ruled out a movement that could take place in January.

Barcelona are also exploring the options of freeing up some spaces in the team that will give room for reinforcements.

According to Fichajes, Barcelona are considering Frenkie de Jong and Memphis Depay sale as they aim to sign players in the right back,  central midfield, and the attack.

Central midfield

There’s been a strengthening of the central midfield position at Barcelona. The board is now considering names like Ilkay Gündogan, Youri Tielemans, and Bernardo Silva.

Attackers

Even though Robert Lewandowski appears to have filled the void left, Barcelona are looking for a long-term solution. As a result, they’re currently looking at the possibility of signing Marco Asensio, Rafael Leao, and Moukoko. These names remain on Xavi Hernandez’s wishlist.

Defense (right back)

Barcelona are watching the world cup to see if they can sign a good defender. They monitor Diogo Dalot, Thomas Meunier, Benjamín Pavard, and Juan Foyth.
