Mattéo Guendouzi found it difficult to get a starting shirt at Arsenal since the arrival of Mikel Arteta, who took over the job from Spaniard Unai Emery after his sack from the top position at Arsenal last season.
Guendouzi formed a key part of Emery’s squad since his arrival to the club two years ago.
However, Mikel Arteta is not considering to build a core midfield around Guendouzi who has to prove himself worthy for a chance to play alongside the rest of the squad after his loan spell in Germany.
According to Fussball Transfers, Hertha Berlin has successfully completed the signing of the young Frenchman on loan for the rest of the season.
But there’s a little twist to the deal agreed between the two clubs. Arsenal is not willing to let 21-year leave the club two years after his arrival.
The Berliners apparently wanted a permanent commitment with the 21-year old French footballer. But in this case, the German club would have to develop a different plan after Guendouzi’s departure at the end of the season.
Arsenal bought the midfielder for eight million euros two years ago and the Gunners are yet to get the most out of him.
