Sydney FC squad depth

Goalkeepers

Tom Heward-Belle has been outstanding since moving to the club. At least he’s got a better scorecard in all competitions he’d appeared throughout last season.

Andrew Redmayne is the second in line, which means Sydney FC has little worries at the back.

The quality saves from the two goalkeepers were enough to seal Grand Final qualifications last season even though they lost out in the end to Melbourne City who claimed the league double.

Defence

The defensive aspect wasn’t much of a problem for Sydney FC throughout the 2020/2021 Australian A-League Men campaign.

The resilience of Rhyan Grant helped to stabilize the defensive. Of course not to forget to the brilliance of Ryan McGowan who contributed immensely to the team.

Midfield

Serbian star Miloš Ninković made headlights with his midfield strength which formed the basis of the team’s overall performance upfront.

Anthony Caceres and Luke Brattan were also outstanding even though Sydney FC failed to clinch the A-League Men Championship.

Forward

New Zealand attacker Kosta Barbarouses and Brazilian sensation Bobô were the frontline attackers.

Bobô’s consistency proved vital throughout the season. Brazil scored important goals including the game against Adelaide United, Melbourne City and Western Sydney Wanderers.

Season Prediction

It was a tight outing last season even though it was another remarkable achievement in the league.

Sydney FC finished runners up in the regular season but could not win the Premiership following the loss to Melbourne City.

However, the 2021/2022 season promises a whole new dimension. Sydney would be hoping for a repeat or even better performance than last season’s success.

More ins and outs are also expected to occur prior to the commencement of the new season.

Competitions

Australia A-League Men – Sydney FC will go all out as the new season commences in November.

The A-League Men since it’s establishment has become one of the hotbed for professional soccer players.

Every year, top players including Europeans move to the league even as the popularity of the league across the European continent continues to grow.

FFA Cup – Sydney FC will compete in the Football Federation Australia Cup when the new season commences.

The FFA Cup is also one of the most contested domestic trophy by A-League Men and other regional soccer teams in Australia.

Sydney FC would be hoping for another successful outing in the 2021/2022 season.

2021/2022 AFC Champions League – as runners up in regular season, Sydney FC will represent Australia alongside Melbourne City and FFA Cup winners in the competition.

About Sydney FC

Sydney FC is an Australian professional soccer club based in Sydney that competes in A-League Men.

Sydney FC is one of the most successful in the league as well as the most consistent in the division.

The club remains a big threat even as the coach of the side plans a revenge after a humiliation in the hands of Melbourne City in the Grand Final saw him miss out on the title narrowly.

The post contains data on Sydney FC squad numbers, players positions for the 2021/2022 season in Australia.
