Union Berlin are expected to capitalise on the Bayern Munich draw with Borussia Dortmund on Saturday when they take on VfB Stuttgart on the road.
The draw between the two sides gives Union Berlin an advantage to extend the lead on the table to four points with a convincing result at Stuttgart.
The home side has been struggling with poor results since the start of the season and is currently 17th on the league table with just five points from eight games.
Union has one of their best seasons yet in the German top flight. The German capital club will go into the game against Stuttgart with high morale following their victory over Malmö FF in the Europa League on Thursday night.
