Lazio will begin their campaign in the UCL this season at home against La Liga side Atletico Madrid at Stadio Olimpico. Last season, the club were runners-up in the Italian Serie A.

Returning to Champions League football, Lazio will look to replicate the same performance in the 2020/21 season, where they finished second in Group F behind Borussia Dortmund.

So far this season, Lazio have just one win and three defeats in the Italian Serie A.

Atletico Madrid also returns to the UCL after a poor outing last season. The Rojiblancos finished bottom of Group B with just five points.

Diego Simeone’s men are returning from an embarrassing defeat to Valencia, which was their first of the season.
