In another round of Premier League football, Southampton will take on West Ham United at the St. Mary’s Stadium on Sunday.

The Saints had a decent start of the season, losing just one of their first four games, but have recently struggled for results. They were fortunate not to have fallen by a wider margin after losing 4-0 to high-flying Manchester City in their most recent league game because they lacked offence and defensive drive.

Southampton has seven points after nine games and is now ranked 17th in the league. They are currently one point above the drop zone, and this weekend they plan to try to increase that margin.

West Ham, on the other hand, had a sluggish start to the year but has recently improved. In their most recent league contest, they defeated Fulham 3-1 after a comeback, with three different players scoring in a commanding effort. 

The Hammers defeated Anderlecht 2-1 in the Europa Conference League. They are currently 13th in the standings.

It’s unclear what Hasenhuttl will do with his team this weekend, given that they didn’t show much improvement against Man City, and a midweek schedule is on the horizon.

Romeo Lavia and Tino Livramento are to sit this one out. However, Lavia might make a comeback before the month is through, and Livramento won’t be back until the new year.

Moyes will be hopeful that Dawson and Zouma can recover quickly enough to play on Sunday since new acquisition Nayef Aguerd is still unable to play.

Michail Antonio, who was absent from the team on Thursday due to illness, should be back, but considering Scamacca’s current form, he might only be able to sit on the bench behind the Italian.

Since Maxwel Cornet’s calf issue has not yet been resolved, the Ivorian is still two weeks away from making a comeback.
