Son Heung-min breaks his goal drought hat-trick in 13 minutes as Tottenham brutally punishes Leicester’s defensive breakdown.

Harry Kane, Eric Dier, and Rodrigo Bentancur scored headers in the first half to help Antonio Conte’s team overcome Youri Tielemans’ retaken penalty in the sixth minute and James Maddison’s miraculous hooked finish to grab a 3-2 lead early in the second half.

Son was benched after failing to score in any of Spurs’ first eight games, but he made up for it with a magnificent cameo after being introduced on the hour mark, netting two of his signature long-range goals before slipping his third past, Danny Ward. 

Youri Tielemans’ penalty gave Leicester the lead, but Harry Kane’s back-post header made it 1-1.

Eric Dier headed in a corner to give his team the lead, but James Maddison of Leicester answered with a brilliant effort from inside the 18-yard box that flew over Hugo Lloris.

At halftime, Brenden Rodgers’ Leicester team may have believed they would secure their first Premier League victory of the year, but a mistake from Wilfred Ndidi allowed  Bentancur to break in on goal and score.

After replacing Richarlison in the 59th minute, Son scored a goal by cutting onto his right foot and blasting a shot past Danny Ward. He then curled a shot past Ward from outside the area after being assisted by Kane this time. Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s through ball put him in, and he scored his first hat trick of the season.

Tottenham now has 17 points, the same as champions Manchester City, but Arsenal can reclaim first place if they defeat Brentford on Sunday.

Winless with only one point after seven games, Leicester’s miserable start to the season has continued. Manager Brendan Rodgers is under increasing pressure as the Foxes sit stuck to the bottom of the table.
