Atletico Madrid are exploring opportunities ahead of the summer transfer window as they bid to strengthen their squad for the new season. The Rojiblancos have set sights on Moroccan midfielder Sofyan Amrabat, who is currently on the watchlist of top European clubs.

According to Marca via Fichajes, Atletico Madrid joined the race to sign Sofyan Amrabat in the summer as the club wants a top-level squad for the 2023/24 season.

The Moroccan midfielder was one of the key players in the Moroccan team that got to the semi-finals of the FIFA World Cup in Qatar. And his performance has not gone unnoticed by some of the major European giants.

According to the report, Tottenham Hotspur, Barcelona, and Liverpool tried to reach an agreement with Fiorentina over the transfer of the player during the winter window. The Italian club requested around 40 million euros.

His contract would come to an end in 2024. Currently, FC Barcelona has not ruled out a possible move for the player in the summer but will face compensation with Atletico Madrid.
