Simba SC, Tanzanian football giants remains one of the country’s top football club that has won notable domestic titles as well great achievements in the past outside the country.
In the past few years, Simba SC has proven to be a worthy representation in CAF competitions including the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederations Cup.
Looking at the country’s coefficient, only two teams are allowed to participate in CAF club competitions.
However, the consistency on the part of the club is edging the country closer to the top of African football.
Highlighting Simba SC titles, trophies and achievements
Formerly known as Sunderland, the giants of Tanzania have won over 21 league titles and the first time that was achieved was in 1965, which was the inaugural season.
The club went on to lift the trophy the following year in 1966.
The club stamped its authority in the domestic scene, winning the Ligi Kuu Bara four straight seasons.
This achievement could be replicated once more if the club could manage to win the 2020/2021 Tanzania league.

3. Community Shied – Nine times
4. CECAFA Club Championship – Six times.
5. Mapinduzi Cup – Two times
6. Tusker Cup – five times
7. FAT Cup – three times
The CECAFA Club Championship is the highest international achievement Simba SC have made so far in it’s history as a football club.
Representing the country in CAF competitions several times, the club have also gone close to winning it. In 1993, they were finalists if the CAF Cup.
What the future holds for Simba SC as the club earns international recognition
The steady progress at Simba SC is laudable and should continue to be the major headline week in week out.
At least, the club has already earned some level of followers internationally and this would help the club win more trophies.
Ability to upset teams in one of the worlds toughest international competition which the CAF Club competitions is one of the most laudable parts of the club in recent times.
One way to save Tanzanian football is when Simba SC decides to keep its best players even though they fail to make it to the finals of major Competitions.
The problems faced by most clubs in almost all developing leagues in Africa is the inability to keep their best legs.
If Simba SC wants more trophies more especially at the international scene, the best legs must be preserved
Dream to win CAF Champions League in 2021 still alive
Simba Sports Club aims to win the CAF Champions League for itself and Tanzania in 2021 and the future is looking bright with the club’s ambitions.
The high points include progressing as group winners despite having the likes of Al Ahly Egypt, AS Vita Club.
