The chase for a defender continues as Shkodran Mustafi lands in the sights of Inter Milan who currently need a quick re-enforcement as the Serie A draws hotter.

Inter Milan who currently sits comfortably at the top of the league table could sign Shkodran Mustafi, whose contract at Schalke 04 may not be extended since it appears to former German giants would be heading to the second division.

The former Arsenal man has not been able to draw Schalke 04 alongside the other top players signed by the club in a bid to avoid relegation this season.

But since it is obvious, a change would be the only option left on the table.

Shkodran Mustafi’s future at Schalke 04 and why he might be a good match for Inter Milan defense

Antonio Conte is already on top of his game at this point. The club top hierarchy believes in what he would do, one of the main reasons why he was not sacked after the club lost in the final of the UEFA Europa League to Sevilla last season.

According to Fussball Transfers via Tuttosport, Inter Milan have the German defender in their sights.

Mustafi is currently not having a good time at Schalke 04, a club that appears to be heading for the drop zone when the season comes to an end.

The only option left would be to leave the club for good. For Inter Milan, above the Serie A title which could come their way this season is not the only problem they’ll have to face.

Hopefully, they’ll qualify for the Champions League for next season and more defenders would be needed to keep the team fit.

At least, a perfect example was Liverpool’s quick drop from the top of the Premier League table as a result of a heavy injury that fell on the team.

Conte wants to re-enforce his team and Shkodran Mustafi could be a valuable asset for Inter Milan if he joins them eventually.
