Sheraldo Becker receives first call up for Suriname National team ahead of 2022 World Cup Qualifiers
Union Berlin star man Sheraldo Becker is on his way to join the Suriname National team ahead of the upcoming world cup qualifiers for 2022.
The 26-year old attacker was invited for the Suriname National team on Monday even as the country prepares for tough Fixtures in their bid to reach the finals in Qatar next year.
During the last qualifiers in March, he was prevented from joining the team as a result of an ankle injury.
However, as things stand currently, he is expected to make his senior debut for the country in the World Cup qualifiers against Bermuda on June 5 and Canada on June 9.
Born in the city of Amsterdam in the Netherlands, Sheraldo Becker had already represented his country of birth in the U16 and U20 junior sides.
But he has decided to switch allegiance after announcing his plans last November.
“As far as the national team is concerned, I am eligible to play for two teams: the Netherlands and Suriname. I recently received a call from Suriname head Coach Dean Gorré, who told me that they wanted me, ”Becker told BZ.
