Man City is arguably one of the biggest football clubs in the English top-flight that have been successful with the development of young players.

In the case of Samuel Edozie, Manchester City’s next-generation winger could break into the first team under Pep Guardiola.

The success of City Football Academy has been mainly due to the investment made by the club owners of City Football Group in many areas, including their development.

Who is Samuel Edozie?

Born 28 January 2003 in Lewisham, England Samuel Ikechukwu Edozie was a product of the Millwall youth academy system. But thanks to his impressive performance, the Premier League giants came calling.

Although Millwall had wanted him to remain at the club amid offers from other leagues, the chance to play in the Premier League with one of the biggest clubs, Manchester City, was too big to be rejected.

The Cityzens paid initially £600,000. But the agreement between the Blues and Millwall could see the deal rise above £ 1 million, although this is due to his performance down the line.

Samuel Edozie’s position and style of play

At Millwall, Samuel Edozie was one of the best players in the youth system. He can play dual positions; as an attacking Midfielder and at the same time as a winger.

Sam Edozie is a pacy winger who could easily fit into Manchester City’s first team in the near future, although this is mainly dependent on his progress.

The pressure is not too much for the 18-year-old English footballer with Nigerian roots. Already, he has drawn the attention of many football fans who tagged him to stake a claim on Pep Guardiola’s team.

Samuel Edozie stats 2021/22

He played for Manchester City Under 23 Professional development team, scoring four goals across all competitions, including the U23 Premier League, EFL Trophy and the UEFA Youth League.

Following an injury setback in late 2021, Sam Edozie returned to full fitness to finish the season on a high.
