Samuel Chukweze was just right on the perfect spot close to Levante’s 18-yard box, as he perfectly timed the pass which landed nicely for Gerard Moreno to seal the win for the home side at the Estadio de la Ceramica stadium.

Chukweze who continued to come off the bench in the past few La Liga games turned out to be a hero for Unai Emery boys, securing the much-needed points.

Villarreal got off a good start as Pedraza’s assist proved perfect for Nino to open the scoring for the Yellow Submarines in the 19th minute of the game.

The introduction of Chukweze just after the break opened up more opportunities as the Nigerian winger could able to tear the defence of Levante, to create spaces moving forward.

Handing Unai Emery valuable points

As Chukweze received a nice pass from the back, he was able to dispatch his marker by making a four-meter drive towards Levante’s 18-yard before releasing a quick pass to Moreno.

At first, Moreno stuttered a little bit as the onrushing defender almost succeeded in stealing the ball from him. But the resilient Spanish international did his best to place the ball beyond the reach of Levante goalkeeper to put Villarreal two goals in the game.

For Chukweze, it was another good moment to further prove his worth to Unai Emery, who recently took charge of the club. The Nigerian might have lost a place in the starting eleven, but his role in the substitute bench always comes with a gift in the end.

The game makes it 16 appearances in the league for Chukweze.

Gerrard Moreno has now scored nine goals this season thanks to Chukweze’s nicely timed assist which at first look like it will not yield a positive result.

Villarreal is now fourth on the league table with 29 points after seventeen games.
