Salary of Real Madrid players 2023: who is the highest paid per week?



Real Madrid has continued to maintain a strong squad over the years, making the club one of the high spenders when it comes to players’ salaries. We’ve brought you the list of the highest-paid players at Real Madrid in 2023.


Real Madrid’s current squad has some of the most talented young players in the world, from Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo Goes to Fede Valverde. Thus a whopping sum is spent to keep the competition.


That said, Belgian forward Eden Hazard has been the most-paid player at Real Madrid since 2019, following his arrival from Chelsea. According to Salary Sport, he earns £384,000 per week.

1. Eden Hazard (£384,000 per week)


Eden Hazard has been the highest earner at Real Madrid since 2019. He joined Los Blancos from Chelsea for a club record fee of £103.50m.

Although he has yet to meet expectations, he sits at the top of Real Madrid’s payroll as the highest paid in the club at £384,000 per week and £19,968,000.

2. David Alaba (£362,000 per week)


Following his arrival from Bayern Munich, where he led the club’s backline for thirteen years. The Austrian climbed into the list to become Real Madrid’s second highest-paid player. He earns £362,000 per week and £18,824,000 annually.


Since he arrived, he has won the UEFA Champions League and the FIFA Club World Cup with Los Blancos, his second with two different clubs.


3. Toni Kroos (£310,000 per week)


Toni Kroos remains one of the best players in the history of Real Madrid. He’s won five UEFA Champions League titles, along with other trophies within and outside Spanish football.


Toni Kroos earns £310,000 weekly and £16,120,000. Although uncertainty surrounds his future at the Santiago Bernabéu, the German footballer could remain at Real Madrid for some time before calling it time for his career or moving elsewhere.

Currently, he sits third on Real Madrid’s weekly payroll as the third highest-paid player at the club.


4. Karim Benzema (£278,000 per week)


Karim Benzema, ‘The Big Benz,’ is one of the highest earners at the club. The Frenchman, who has been crucial lately, is fourth on the list. Karim Benzema’s weekly wages at Real Madrid are £278,000 and £14,456,000 annually.


Benzema was decisive in 2022, guiding the club to the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, and the FIFA Club World Cup. He is also part of the five-time UCL winners club.


5. Luka Modrić (£278,000 per week)

Luka Modrić remains one of the most outstanding players at the club. The Croatian has also won five UCL titles and other silverware, including the Spanish La Liga and the FIFA Club World Cup.


Luka Modrić is the fifth highest-earning footballer at the Santiago Bernabéu. He earns £278,000 every week and £14,456,000 yearly.


6. Thibaut Courtois (£255,000 per week)

Thibaut Courtois has been rock solid for Los Blancos in goal over the last few years. The Belgian, who joined the club from Chelsea, has been crucial in the club’s success over the years.


Courtois is one of the least paid among the biggest stars at the club. He receives £255,000 weekly wages and £13,260,000 yearly.

7. Vinícius Júnior (£186,000 per week)

Hailed as the most decisive player in world football today, Vinícius Júnior makes the top ten list of the Real Madrid payroll. The Brazilian winger is the seventh highest-paid player at the club. He earns £186,000, which comes as a surprise due to his talent and performance at the club.

However, subsequent contract renewal is expected to increase his weekly and annual income at the club significantly.

Vinicius Junior won his first Champions League title in the 2021/22 season, where he was one of the highest goal contributors on the team.


8. Antonio Rüdiger (£155,000 per week)

Despite arriving at Santiago Bernabéu as a free agent, Antonio Rüdiger makes the top list. The German defender earns £155,000 per week and £8,060,000 every year.


9. Éder Militão (£154,000 per week)

Éder Militão, one of the best defenders in the Spanish La Liga, Éder Militão makes the ninth spot. The Brazilian is paid £154,000 every week at Real Madrid.


Militão is famously known for his ability to score stunning goals and resilience in defense which had proved vital for the Los Blancos. He joined the club from Portuguese giants FC Porto in 2019.


10. Ferland Mendy (£154,000 per week)

Ferland Mendy makes it into the list and is the 10th highest paid. The Frenchman earns £154,000 weekly and £8,008,000 yearly.
