Ryan Gravenberch picks Zinedine Zidane as his idol at Real Madrid
Ajax Amsterdam midfield sensation Ryan Gravenberch picks Real Madrid ex-coach and legend Zinedine Zidane as his idol.
The 19-year-old midfielder is the latest footballer linked with Real Madrid ahead of the January transfer window.
The Ajax Amsterdam star spoke to CBS Sports Golazo as cited by Bernabeudigital where he has recognised who his childhood idol is: “My idol in the Champions League was Zinédine Zidane, because of his way of playing, his technique, his intelligent, I like him. You try to imitate him a bit, to learn.” he said.
The Dutchman’s current contact with Ajax ends in 2023. However, the recent rumours in the market suggest a transfer is likely to happen. Although there has been no official statement from or by club officials yet, the Los Blancos could prioritise him.
Real Madrid are currently linked with several names, including Erling Haaland, Mathias Ginter, Kylian Mbappé. Gravenberch, along with Sebastien Haller, pushed Ajax to the knockout stages of the 2021/2022 UEFA Champions League.
