Borussia Dortmund’s number one remains loyal to BVB. As the Ruhrpottklub officially announces, Roman Bürki has extended his 2021 contract by two more years until 2023.
“We are delighted that Roman Bürki is still one of the most constant goalkeeper in the Bundesliga with us between the posts. This is an important long-term and excellent position. It speaks for Roman that he has already played twelve games with zero this season, ” emphasizes sports director Michael Zorc.
Bürki himself is also happy about the signature. “I feel very comfortable at Borussia Dortmund and feel the trust of those responsible, the coach and the teammates,” says the keeper.
The Swiss has stood between the posts of Borussia since 2015. At the time, Bürki switched from SC Freiburg to Dortmund for 3.5 million euros. The 29-year-old has played 206 games for BVB so far. The highlight was the DFB Cup victory in 2017.
