Renato gaúcho teams coached
Who is Renato Gaúcho, and which team has he coached? For the records, Renato Gaúcho is one of the famous football coaches in the history of Brazilian football.
Gaúcho played for top clubs like Grêmio, Flamengo, AS Roma and Atlético Mineiro to hang his boot for a career in professional coaching.
Gaucho began his first assignment in professional coaching as interim coach of Fluminense in 1996. About five years after, he took up his first full-time job at Madureira.
Renato gaúcho did not achieve much when it comes to winning trophies in the early years of his coaching career until 2007, when he guided Brazilian giants Fluminense to Copa do Brasil success and Copa Libertadores with Grêmio.
For Renato, this was the best moment of his coaching career. At the Copa Libertadores 2017 awards, he was handed the Manager of the Year for his brilliance.
The following year, Renato won the Recopa Sudamericana, South America’s Super Cup, to complete the continental double. He also went on to win the Campeonato Gaúcho.
Although the influence of Fluminense in the domestic league, most especially in Campeonato Série A and Coppa Copa do Brasil, had dropped, Renato Gaúcho won Campeonato Gaúcho consecutively in 2018, 2019 and 2020.
