A loss would see Madrid in the UEFA Europa League round of 32. But a win would be the only option Zidane and his boys will be eyeing on Wednesday.

1. Thibaut Courtois
The Belgian goalkeeper who remain unchallenged since his move from Chelsea to Spain remains the key player for the Los Merengues.
Courtois’s brilliance during Sunday’s training session indicates he’ll be key to the club’s success against the German side at the Alfredo Di Stefano Stadium.
Courtois conceded two goals the last timeout on the continent, although he managed to keep a clean sheet against Sevilla on Saturday.
2. Luka Modric
The current world best footballer of the year has been one of the key players in midfield. Modric had always been a good team leader owing to his fitness level and his abilities.
Modric, Toni Kroos proved vital during the club’s win on the road against Sevilla at Ramon.
3. Karim Benzema
The Frenchman has been able to fill the void left by Cristiano Ronaldo, even though it is not at the level most Madrid fans are expecting.
Benzema was a key player for the club as relentless effort saw a great comeback to clinch the league from Barcelona, who occupied the top spot before the league went on the coronavirus pandemic break.
He’s also continued with that form this season. Although he’s not been able to score as many as compared to last season, the Frenchman remains a threat upfront.
4. Vinicius Junior
You can’t stop the young Brazilian sensation, who was a hot start during the game against Sevilla. He was also involved in the attack which led to the own goal scored by Sevilla goalkeeper Bono.
Vinicius remains the future of the club, even though he’s not been able to hit the back of the net.
5. Lucas Vasquez
The defender has been in fine form since the start of the season. He performance coupled with contributions from Nacho, Mendy remains key to Real Madrid’s survival in the Champions League this season.
