Real Madrid new Santiago Bernabéu Stadium to feature retractable turf
The Santiago Bernabéu Stadium has been tipped to become one of the best football stadiums with the most upgraded modern facilities. This comes as the club continues with the ongoing renovations of the famous football venue.
Upon completion, The Santiago Bernabéu, which rejected concerts and other social activities that would occupy the playing surface, would now feature a retractable turf.
According to Marca, the New Bernabeau would feature a retractable turf, meaning the club will now be open to request for the staging of concerts and other events at the stadium once it is completed.
Additionally, the Santiago Bernabéu would also be expanded to 100,000 spectators for music concerts or other events as per Marca.
The roof of the Bernabéu would be made to prevent weather from impacting events that may affect the retractable turf.
Real Madrid has also agreed on a 25-year deal with sports and events company Legends in a deal worth 400 million euros per year.
The Santiago Bernabéu at the end of the renovation is expected to drive more revenue for the club, just as other European clubs like Bayern Munich Manchester United have enjoyed over the years.
Presently, the Santiago Bernabéu is the second biggest football stadium in Spain after the Camp Nou, home to FC Barcelona.
