Real Madrid eyeing two Spanish defenders as possible replacement for Sergio Ramos

Sergio Ramos

The future of Sergio Ramos at Real Madrid remains up in the air sinc the club legend is yet to have his contract extended despite having less than a year left.

The Spanish captain is currently in no man’s land since the top hierarchy is yet to extend his contract with the club. Instead, the Los Merengues are targeting two Spanish defenders Pau Torres and Eric Garcia as a possible replacement.

Eric Garcia who’s currently a key target in Barcelona has recently entered the watchlist of the La Liga giants. Garcia who could’ve joined Barcelona during the summer transfer window from Manchester City failed to cut before deadline day as Barcelona could not provide an additional two million euros for his transfer to be completed.

However, Barcelona has set sights on signing their former Academy graduate in January.

Pau Torres who’s been making waves across Spain with Villarreal had been gathering interest within and outside Spain.

According to Bernabeau Digital, these two players are currently on the list of wanted defenders at Real Madrid who plans a major squad overhaul next summer.

According to the website, Nacho and Lucas could follow the exit door with Ramos if the club fails to extend his contract before June 2021.
