Real Madrid had to rely on penalties to advance to the finals of the Spanish Super Cup held in Saudi Arabia. The Los Blancos were ahead through Karim Benzema’s spot kick before Samuel Lino brought the game on level terms in the second half.

Real Madrid had a better opportunity to seal the game, but a resilient performance from Valencia made it a hard nut to crack for Carlo Ancelotti’s men.

Following the victory over Valencia, Real Madrid will face the winner of the other semifinal game between Barcelona and Real Betis.

Real Madrid employed a 4-3-3 formation where Rodrygo, Karim Benzema, and Vinicius Junior completed the front three.

Valencia, on the other hand, played Edinson Cavani and Samuel Lino as the front two in a more defensive-minded approach to the game. Valencia are currently eleventh on the league table and will now shift their focus to their next match in the Copa del Rey against Sporting Gijon.
