RB Leipzig to begin renovation of Red Bull Arena Stadium
RB Leipzig has confirmed plans of renovating the Red Bull Arena Stadium in collaboration with the University of Leipzig Technology, Economic and Culture (HTWK Leipzig).
The club wants to ensure the sustainability of the Stadium and will collaborate with the University, care should be taken to conserve resources with the seat swap planned for 2022.
The new renovation of the Red Bull Arena Stadium will see new introduction like the use of plastic elements will be checked whether they can be used.
According to plans by the club, the old seats of the Red Bull Arena Stadium will be recycled with new materials in a bid to create more sustainable and reliable seats for fans.
The new plans by the club are expected to fully take place before the end of 2022.
“The replacement of the stadium seats was not originally included in the project plan. However, the feedback from fans and the possibility of implementing it this summer have encouraged us to start the replacement now.
It was important to us from the start that it should be used sustainably to guarantee the old seats and to use sustainable material for the new seats “, RB Leipzig Chief Operating Officer Jens May is quoted on the website.
The feasibility studies of the 15 students will be evaluated by a jury in mid-July, and the best solution will be awarded a prize.
According to the club’s statement, old seats can be acquired by fans for local use.
