RB Leipzig CEO Oliver Mintzlaff addresses Dani Olmo future amid Man City links
Perhaps one of the biggest summer surprises, Dani Olmo was in the news following rumours he could join Manchester City.
The Spaniard came to the limelight at the start of the season in the German Super Cup, where his hat trick helped Leipzig to win the curtain raiser ahead of Bayern Munich.
Now, Olmo’s performance has made him one of the most followed names in the summer. Although the player intended to remain at the Red Bull Arena, rumours have continued circulating.
Now, Leipzig CEO Oliver Mintzlaff has given the assurance that the striker would remain at the club despite links that could see him move to the Premier League.
“Dani Olmo will be part of the squad, no matter who is interested,” the head of Red Bull’s football division is quoted as saying by ‘Sport Bild’ via Fussball Transfers.
RB Leipzig head coach Marco Rose and the club’s sporting director, Sport Max Eberl, had spoken about the player’s future, stating his importance to the team and ruling out a move to Man City.
These strong statements from the Bundesliga club mean Man City must look at alternatives other than the 25-year-old Spanish forward.
