RB Leipzig 4-1 Mainz 05: Player Ratings/ Bundesliga 21/22
RB Leipzig smashed visitors Mainz 05 to kickstart the second half of the Bundesliga 2021/2022 on a high note even as we bring you the Players Ratings in our game review.
Portuguese forward André Silva scored twice as RB Leipzig began the second half of the 2021/22 Bundesliga season on a high flying note against visitors Mainz 05.
The Portuguese international who joined the Saxony based club didn’t start the season quite the way that was expected of him.
But so far, he’s gradually gotten back to his best form. Silva found the back of the net in the 21st minute of the game through the spot. Leipzig further increased their lead by two goals following Christopher Nkunku’s brilliant run.

As if the dierotenbullen had already stolen the show at the Red Bull Arena, South Korean attacker Lee Jae-sung reduced the deficit with his roofing shot eleven minutes into the second half.
However, Christopher Nkunku’s nail-biting strike right inside Mainz 18-year box restored Leipzig’s lead. Silva completed his fine evening as he smashed home Leipzig’s fourth and second goal of the game to lift the Saxony based club past their visitors.
Silva was cleared to train with the first team ahead of the commencement of the second half of the season from coronavirus. Dominik Szobozlai once again showed his worth despite the poor start to life in the Bundesliga since making the move from RB Salzburg.
The Portuguese forward’s high firing start to the second half of the season is expected to accelerate Leipzig’s chase for the top half of the league table.
