For the 2022/23 season, there are over seven London-based teams in the Premier League, namely Arsenal, Brentford, Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Fulham, Tottenham Hotspur, and West Ham United.
Traditional teams like Chelsea, Arsenal, and Tottenham Hotspur have been competing in the league for decades. And recently, the promotion of Brentford following a long absence increased the number of teams from the city.
Today, some of the Premier League teams in London have won the title. Teams like Chelsea and Arsenal have won more than four titles each.

Arsenal Football Club
Location: North London
Arsenal is one of the most famous football clubs in world football. The club is based in Islington, North London. It was founded in 1886 and currently ranks as the third most successful team in English football.
Arsenal is the only London club to finish the Premier League season unbeaten, thus earning the title ‘Invincibles.’ They became the second club after Nottingham Forest to achieve this record.
Led by French coach Arsène Wenger, Arsenal enjoyed remarkable success in the English Premier League and, most especially, in the FA Cup, where the club became the most successful team in the history of the domestic cup competition.
Tottenham Hotspur
Location: North London
Tottenham Hotspur is one of the biggest teams in London. Founded in 1882, the club has been around the English top flight for a while.
Although most of the club’s achievement was during the 20th century, Spurs have continued to compete at the highest level in the Premier League and other domestic Competitions.
In 2019, Tottenham Hotspur reached the finals of the UEFA Champions League but lost to Liverpool in what was seen as the club’s major international final since the start of the modern era of football.
Tottenham Hotspur is the third-best team in London. Spurs got most of its trophies from the 1950s to 2000.
Chelsea

Chelsea is the most successful London-based soccer team internationally, having won the two UEFA Champions League titles, two Europa League titles, UEFA Super Cup, and the FIFA Club World Cup.
The Blues were not the best domestic only in the early 2000s as they’ve had more success in European competitions and lead as the club with the most European trophies.
Chelsea plays its home games at the 40,341-capacity Stamford bridge located in Fulham.
Currently, Chelsea is one of the best teams in England and Europe due to its recent success domestically and internationally.
West Ham United
Location: East London
West Ham United has maintained a strong presence in the English top flight. The Hammers were founded in 1895 and are based in East London.
Fulham Football Club
Location: West London
Fulham is one of the London-based teams in the English Premier League. The Cottagers have actively played in the English top flight throughout their existence.
Fulham was founded in 1879 and is currently considered the oldest professional football club in London. The club plays its home games at Craven Cottage, which has a capacity of 25,700.
One of the club’s remarkable achievements in recent years was qualifying for the 2010 Europa League final, where they lost to Atlético Madrid.
Fulham may not be a consistent top side in London. Still, it also has a fair share of important national and regional trophies as a club, including the FA Cup, EFL Championships, and UEFA Intertoto Cup.
Crystal Palace Football Club
Location: South London
Crystal Palace competes in the English Premier League. The club was founded in 1905 and joined the Football League in 1920.
The Eagles have participated in English football competitions, including the FA, where they attained one of their highest finishes. They’ve also won the Championship.
Palace has maintained a good presence in the Premier League ever since, becoming one of the mid-table teams with strong opposition.
Brentford Football Club
Location: West London
Brentford is one of the London-based EPL teams. They returned to the English top flight after a long absence at the end of the 2020–21 Championship via the promotion playoffs.
Brentford was founded in 1889 and has been part of the English football league since 1920. The club currently plays its home matches at the Brentford Community Stadium.
